CONCENTRATES (hopped & unhopped malt extracts)

Hopped Malt Extract (Beer Kit)

Beer is a fermented alcoholic beverage, made up of malted barley and flavoured with hops. To obtain a beer kit (concentrate), the wort is heated to evaporate most of the water. The end result is a liquid hoped malt extract, that is usually available to the home brewer in the form of a can. The addition of water, sugar and yeast is required.

Each beer kit yields 23 litres of finished product (unless specified otherwise).

Barons

Barons (product of Canada), 4 litre aseptic pouch, no addition of sugar is required. $28.95: American Light, Canadian Draught, Canadian Golden Ale, Canadian High Test, Canadian Lager, Canadian Pilsener, Mexican Cerveza.

Barons Premium. $32.95: Amber Ale, Brown Ale, Dutch Lager, Pale Ale, Redwood Ale.

Coopers

Coopers (product of Australia), 1.8 kg can: Bitter, Classic Old Dark Ale, Draught, Lager, Real Ale, Stout. Price: $18.95

Coopers Brewmaster's Selection, 1.7kg can: Canadian Blonde, India Pale Ale, Pilsner. Price: $18.95

Festa Brew

Festa Brew (product of Canada), 23 litre kit which produces 23 litres of an all grain, micro-brewed style beer. No addition of water or sugar is needed. Varieties available: Blonde Lager $32.95, Bock $34.95, Brown Ale $32.95, Continental Pilsner $32.95, Cream Ale $32.95, Pale Ale $32.95, Red Ale $32.95, Double Oatmeal Stout $34.95 and Wheat $32.95.

Unhopped Malt Extract

Malt extract is a thick syrup or dry powder prepared from malt. Basically, it is sweet wort reduced to a syrup or powder form by removing most or all of the water. In this case, the malt has not yet been hopped.
